How Gandhara became Qandhar (currently Kandahar)?

Image
Once upon a time, Afghanistan was not how we see it today, that is what studies say. It was once known as Gandhara and the fact that it still has a city known by the name of Kandahar confirms the truth. As per the experts, the Gandhara kingdom covered portions of today’s northern Pakistan and eastern Afghanistan. It was spread over Pothohar Plateau, Peshawar Valley and Kabul River Valley. The word Gandhāra finds mention in the Rig Veda, Uttara-Ramayana and Mahabharata. The word means gandha (fragrance), i.e. the land of fragrances. It is said that Gandhara is one of the names of Lord Shiva as mentioned in the Sahastranaam (thousand names) that was obtained by Lord Krishna from sage Upamanyu in the Mahabharata. The same was narrated to Yudhisthira, Bhishma and other members of the Kuru clan. It is possible that the devotees of Shiva were the first inhabitants of Gandhara. As per the sources, it is believed that people lived on the banks of River Kabul (also Kabol or Kubhā) r...

What difficult truth did you finally accept?

Image
1- You’re going to be alone always this is fact of Life But We never Accept it Any doubts that we meet with someone who understands, Care, love, trust, sacrifice for Us but once a day........✋✋✋🖐🖐🤚 No matter how good you’re as a person, how many friends you have, how much you’re loved by your family. You’re always going to be alone, especially in your tough times. Nobody is going to understand you, help you in your struggles or take you out of difficulties except you. You’re your hero. 2- No one’s gonna have your back as your parents do but in rare case only if not then God know  As you grow up, you will realize, that all are humans who are genuinely not happy  for your loss but may be not Feel sad  3- Do good it will always come back Only a few times  Do good, spread goodness, and be a helping hand to others but never accept anything in return. This is the law of the universe what you sow shall you reap. The good deeds you do are actually to help yourself and not...

What are the signs that someone thinks they are smarter than you or everyone else?

Image
They rectify you, often unnecessarily They don’t believe what you say, and look it up on their phone only for you to be verified correct They ‘scoff’ at your ideas and talk only about what is wrong with them, not having any ideas of their own They myopically focus on only a single aspect of something and ignore the other 99% of relevant data because it could contradict them They constantly ‘straw man’ and ‘ad hominem’ attack you and their intellectual opponents—they’ll say that they know a racist who supports XYZ law and therefore all supporters of that law are racist and they, themselves, obviously are not racist They equate education with knowledge, and equate knowledge with wisdom They use lofty rhetoric unnecessarily, especially when more straight-forward words are appropriate They’ll throw in terms and phrases like “postmodern” into a normal conversation regardless if it fits or not. And when you ask them what they mean they deflect your question with either “how do yo...

PsychologicalFactsss-What are some awesome psychological facts about ourselves that helps to know ourselves better?

Image
Overthinking kills our ability to be happy, Arguing at every chance is a sign of ignorance. Don’t waste your breath with these people, Most limitations are actually psychological in nature - not physical. Destroying the limiting beliefs will create optimal conditions for self-development, What hurts you today, makes you stronger tomorrow, Making people feel hopeless always backfires, What you think of most of the time is what you finally become, Getting too attached to anyone destroys you in the end, If you make the mistake of looking back too much, you aren’t focused enough on the road in front of you, People treat you how you present yourself, Your ultimate success is influenced by your beliefs, No one notices how sad you are until it turns into anger, then you’re the crazy person who needs help, Sometimes, you end up losing yourself trying to hold onto someone who doesn’t care about losing you, Everyone is waiting to be appreciated by someone, Your dreams are expressions of your sub...

What is Unacceptable truth of life?

Image
Death - the first unacceptable truth of life which can’t be avoided. Looks matters!!! Whatever others say Money is most important in life. Some says “Money can’t buy happiness” Ask poor people. Rich family is safe. Proved in this Covid-19 pandemic(during lockdown) What is Unacceptable truth of life? Don’t always do good. Try some bad things (God takes people early who do Good) Don’t be innocent throughout your life, keep some brave behaviour with you ( Don’t know at what situation it will be useful) Undergo breakup at least once in life, for sure it will change your life (but be brave) Self respect is IMPORTANT, once you loose it for someone you can’t build it back. Knowledge to achieve something in life Supportive Women, behind every successful person there exists women (For me it’s my mother) Maturity, it has lots of benefits one is “increasing your social status” Failure is important in life to even find a better way to succeed (Always succeeding people won’t know it) S...

Thinking fast and Slow Part 2️⃣

Image
Availableeity works by the rule, “If you can think of it, it must be important." Like any other heuristic on which the fast system relies, most of the time the heuristic of availability is very useful. For example, when somebody asks you, "What's the biggest city in Europe?" you may instantly say "London," not because you know for sure that it is the biggest city in Europe, but just because it first came to your mind. And you wouldn't be too far away, because London is the second biggest city in Europe, after Moscow. This is a situation when the availability heuristic works in your favour. On the other hand, there are numerous examples of this heuristic catching people off guard, and rushing them into unnecessary and irrational conclusions. Large plane crashes are one of the most shocking and media-covered events in the world. For days and weeks after this kind of catastrophe, the news is still full of reports about these kinds of events. An...

Thinking, Fast and Slow 1

Image
PREFACE In this summary, you will find the most important ideas contained in Kahneman's bestseller, Thinking, fast and slow. Do you want to know why this psychologist received the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences? Then continue reading. Before we start, we would just like to make something clear. The word heuristics is very important and should be clarified before we begin with our summary. Although it looks a bit daunting, it's pretty simple: heuristics are rules and mental short-cuts people use to process information more efficiently. They are like a set of presumptions that usually lead to good predictions. The most important idea that you will able to draw from this book is the fact that the human intellect has two "modes" of mode and praise the other. Rather, the goal is to point out the good as well as bad sides of each mode of functioning. Let's start with the rational side. One may be too quick to make conclusions and say that the rational side...

Must read a story written by me on Papa on this fathers day

Image
A 65 years old father was sitting on the sofa in his house along with his 45 year’s old highly so-called educated son. Suddenly a bird 🐦 seated on their window. The Father asked his Son, “What is this?” The Son replied, “It is a Pigeon ”. After a few minutes, the Father asked his Son the 2nd time, “What is this?” The Son said “Father, I have just now told you “It’s a Pigeon ”. After a little while, the old Father again asked his Son the 3rd time, What is this?” At this time some expression of irritation was felt in Son’s tone when he said to his Father with a rebuff. “It’s a Pigeon, a Pegion, a Pegion. A little after, the Father again asked his Son the 4th time, “What is this?” This time the Son shouted at his Father, “Why do you keep asking me the same question again and again, although I have told you so many times ‘IT IS A Pigeon ’. Are you not able to understand this?” A little later the Son went to his room  He saw an old diary of his in the room he came out of th...

29-May-1936Gandhi's eldest son creates controversy as he converts to the Muslim faith.

Image
Harilal Mohandas Gandhi was the eldest son of Mahatma Gandhi. Harilal liked to go to England for higher studies and hoped to become a barrister as his father had once been. His father firmly opposed this, thinking that a Western-style education would not be helpful in the struggle against British rule over India. Finally rebelling against his father’s decision, in 1911 Harilal renounced all family ties. Harilal converted to Islam at the Jumma Masjid, Bombay on 29th May 1936 and took up the name Abdullah Gandhi. (May 1936, at the age of 48, Harilal publicly converted to Islam and named himself Abdulla Gandhi. However, later in 1936, on his mother Kasturba Gandhi's request he converted back to Hinduism through the Arya Samaj and adopted a new name, Hiralal)  Gandhiji wrote to his other son, Ramdas Gandhi, the following day, “There could be no harm in his being converted to Islam with understanding and selfless motives. What Is Mindfulness? A Simple Definition

Image
The secret power of mindful communication? Mindfulness means living in the present moment. Essentially, it means being  (intentionally) more aware and awake to each moment and being fully engaged in what is happening in one’s surroundings – with acceptance and without judgment.   Moreover, according to the CB University mindfulness can be defined as t he practice of being aware of your body, mind, and feelings in the present moment, thought to create a feeling of calm Mindfulness means maintaining light-emitting  to live in the present.” It became a very important attribute because man has a tendency to fret about the “past” and worry about the “future” and often get trapped in either one of it. This trap takes away his ability to focus on the present and hence keep pushing him into continued failure or discomfort. Mindfulness is called “Sachethna” in Hindi and it came from the Sanskrit root “Chaitanyam” meaning “luminesce” or light emitting. Whe...

Why do intelligent people withdraw from society?

Image
They’ll withdraw if they perceive a truth too early. It’s the Cassandra syndrome - perceiving a truth at the right time is as important as perceiving the truth. When is it the right time? When everyone else can also perceive that truth, of course. In the right circumstances, being able to anticipate certain things is quite powerful. But Cassandra wasn’t Agamemnon, or Hector, or Priam. She couldn’t do anything with what she saw, except be a disbelieved and misunderstood voice in the wilderness. If you’re lucky, or careful, you’ll navigate the world regardless. But if you’re not careful, or you’re unlucky, you’ll receive pretty strong signals that the truth you perceive isn’t welcome. Over time, you may well feel less welcome in general. And people can sense when you’re not on board with the program, particularly in conformist societies. And if the truth you see is one of great turmoil, lasting for decades, perhaps you’ll want to avoid the storm. Spending too much time alone can be unhea...

SOME SOCIAL RULES THAT MAY HELP YOUTO BOSTE YOUR COMMUNICATION SKILL

Image
Don’t call someone more than twice continuously. If they don’t pick up your call, presume they have something important to attend to; . Return money that you have borrowed even before the person that borrowed you remember or ask for it. It shows your integrity and character. The same goes with umbrellas, pens    Never order the expensive dish on the menu when someone is giving you a lunch/dinner.    Don’t ask awkward questions like ‘Oh so you aren’t married yet?’ Or ‘Don’t you have kids’ or ‘Why didn’t you buy a house?’ Or why don't you buy a car? For God’s sake it isn’t your problem;   Always open the door for the person coming behind you. It doesn’t matter if it is a guy or a girl, senior or junior. You don’t grow small by treating someone well in public ; If you take a taxi with a friend and he/she pays now, try paying next time;  Respect different shades of opinions. Remember what's 6 to you will appear 9 to someone facing you. Besides...
