Harsh Vardhan New Delhi [India], May 20 (ANI): Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan is set to take charge as the chairman of the  World Health Organization  (WHO) Executive Board on May 22, sources said on  The Executive Board meeting of the WHO will be held on May 22. The Executive Board is composed of 34 technically qualified members elected for three-year terms. The chairman's post is held by rotation for one year among regional groups.  The main functions of the Board are to implement the decisions and policies of the Health Assembly and facilitate its work. The extended lockdown to contain COVID-19 pandemic which has stalled traffic on the ground as in the air is expected to heap enormous losses on infrastructure industries in both sectors, analytics company Crisil said on Thursday. Its estimates indicate that the aviation industry will crash-land this fiscal year with a revenue loss of Rs 24,000 crore to 25,000 crore. Airlines will be the worst-affected, contributing more than 70 per cent of the losses or Rs 17,000 crore followed by airport operators with Rs 5,000 crore to 5,500 crore and airport retailers (including retail, food and beverages and duty-free) with Rs 1,700 crore to 1,800 crore. That will reverse the trend growth of 11 per cent per annum the industry has logged over the past ten years, making it one of the most adversely affected sectors of the economy. Saffron is a specie by the Crocus plant specie found usually in karewa soil of kashmir and adjoin Kashmir saffron, which is cultivated and harvested in the Karewa (highlands) of Jammu and Kashmir, has been given the Geographical Indication (GI) tag by the Geographical Indications Registry. The spice is grown in some regions of Kashmir, including Pulwama, Budgam, Kishtwar and Srinagar. The application was filed by the Directorate of Agriculture, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, and facilitated by the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology, Kashmir, and Saffron Research Station, Dussu (Pampore). Traditional water mills (Gharats)-A source of rural livelihood in mountainous region of Jammu and Kashmir The present exploratory study was conducted in Shivalik hills of Jammu region of J&K at an altitude of 4500-5000 ft height to document the traditional knowledge of the local people regarding traditional water mills locally called as "Gharats" used for grinding of different cereals and grains especially maize for their household consumption by using energy of flowing water. Among different cereal crops maize is predominately grown and is the staple food for the peasants of the area.
