COVID-19: CRPF man among 7 more die in Kashmir, toll 359 in J&K  Srinagar, July 30 : Seven more persons including a CRPF man have died of COVID-19 in Kashmir division, thus taking the toll of deaths due to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir to 359. Officials said, that the seven patients who died include a 75-year-old woman from Shivpora Srinagar, a 72-year-old man from Batamallo Srinagar, a 55-year-old CRPF man of 198 battalion, a 66-year-old woman from Keegam Shopian, a 55-year-old man from Humhama Budgam, a 70-year old lady woman from Delina Baramulla and a 75-year-old male from Kreeri Baramulla. An official from SKIMS said that a 75-year-old woman from Shivpora Srinagar who was admitted on 26 July, died on Thursday morning. Youth injured after mobile explodes in his hands in Tral Pulwama, July 29: A 24-year-old youth from Tral area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district was injured after his mobile exploded in his hands on Wednesday. An official told the news agency that a youth identified as Irshad Ahmad Reshie, son of Gulam Rasool Reshie of Main Tral got injured when his mobile exploded at his home. He said that the youth was playing a game on mobile when it exploded due to which he has sustained injuries on his face. “The injured youth was shifted to a nearby hospital, wherefrom he was shifted to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital for further treatment,” he added. Kishtwar  July, 11-2020 Kishtwar Police with an aim to contain the spread of COVID-19 infection and on the directions issued by the District Magistrate Kishtwar Shri.Rajinder Singh Tara, for imposing a fine of Rs.300 against the persons  moving in public places without wearing masks. *Today SHO PS Kishtwar fine 104 persons, and I/C PP Hidyal fine 50 persons collecting a total fine of Rs. 46,200/- ,* who violating the direction issued by the MHA in wake of COVID-19 .In the coming days for  ensuring 100% usage of wearing masks at public places. Encounter in Kashmir

Gunfight breaks out in Sopore part of  North Kashmir  Jkopinion Srinagar, July 12 :) A gunfight breaks out between militants and Security forces in Reban area of north Kashmir's Sopore on Sunday. According to the reports reaching  a joint team of Police, Army's 22 RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Reban. As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter. A senior police officer confirmed to  the exchange of fire between the joint team and the militants. As per the sources, two to three militants including a commander are believed to be trapped.

The injured have been identified as Daleep (26), Chander (29), Bachan Singh (25) and Indra Devi (22), all residents of Nageni Balgram. The Injured persons were shifted to GMC Doda, the official added. Ex-BJP District President, His Father, Brother Shot Dead In Bandipora Former district president of BJP along with his father and brother were shot dead by suspected militants in Bandipora district of north Kashmir on Wednesday evening.  Sources said that the former BJP district president Bandipora Wasim Bari along with his father and brother were at their shop when some unidentified militants struck and shot at them, injuring them critically. They were shifted to hospital but succumbed to their injuries, they said.   Confirming it, a senior police officer told GNS that the family had eight security personnel but “unfortunately none of them was kept along at the time of the incident.” “As the house and shop are together, the PSOs were allowed to sit on first floor,” the officer said. He said that a case has been launched and further investigation are underway.

*DDC reviews the progress in the implimentation of POSHAN ABHIYAN.* KISHTWAR 04-07-2020District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara today convened a meeting of all district officers here in his office chamber and reviewed the progress in the implimentation of the District Convergence plan under POSHAN ABHIYAN.The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pawan Parihar,Joint director Planning Mohd Iqbal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishore Singh Katoch ,District Social welfare officer Tariq Ahmad Qazi, Chief Medical Officer kishtwar Dr R .S Manhas,Chief Education Officers Dr Kuldeep Sharma , Assistant Director FCS&CA kishtwar, Executive officer MC Tariq Balwan,XEn PHE N K Gupta, besides concerned officers and officials among others. At the outset Program Officer ICDS Kishtwar Pawan Parihar briefed the meeting about the progress at different quarters that are underway for the ensured implementation of Convergence Plan under POSHAN ABHIYAN.During the meeting DDC urged the heads of concerned departments to work in a tandem and asked for pooling their efforts under a convergence plan so that an integrated approach could be carved out for achieving the tangible results under the POSHAN ABHIYAN.Furthermore he assessed one by one the Progress made in various quarters viz. construction of govt buildings for the effective functioning of Anganwari Centres in rural areas ,provisions for safe drinking water and child friendly toilet facility in privately hired set ups, maintenance of database of all health checkups and and nutritional status of pregnant ladies ,creation of dedicated Cooking facility in the Anganwadi centres, installation of Sanitary Napkins Vending machines at Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Kishtwar and in other identified high schools,providing Jal Jivan kits to AnganWari centres etcDDC asked PO, ICDS for conducting of Capacity building workshops and training programs for Supervisors by the end of this week.Besides , he also directed PO, ICDS and ACD kishtwar for the quantification of funds under convergence plan and submitt the proposals projected under B2V-2 in this regard in his office for further course of action.While emphasizing upon the role of PRIs and other religious leaders in the effective implementation of the POSHAN ABHIYAN and other schemes of ICDS at the gross root level , he asked the Nutritional mobilizers to work in cooperation with them for gross root level success of ABHIYAN.
